Great night of music at the Scary Canary, with The Usual Suspects and a wild crowd who were more then happy to get into the spirit of things! Here’s a few of our favourite snaps from the night:

Winners of the Entertainment of the Year “Live Bands” at the 2014 WEOA Awards!
We’re still on a high from Sunday’s award ceremony! So incredibly excited to have received this honour! A huge thank you to all of our suppliers, clients and most of all our amazing muso’s – you mean so, so much to us. We’re grateful beyond words to work with such a special, talented and just generally awesome group of people. X
The Usual Suspects at Amanda & Sam’s Wedding
So, so much love for these snaps from Amanda & Sam’s Gunners’ Barracks wedding! Absolutely stunning work by Lisa & Pete from And A Day. Take a look:
Such a party! In honour of the occasion, The Usual Suspects rolled out the following requests:
Bridesmaid’s Entrance: Run The World (Girls) – Beyonce
Groomsmen’s Entrance: Do Ya Think I’m Sexy – Tom Jones
Bride & Groom’s Entrance: Another One Bites The Dust – Queen
An upbeat party song is exactly what you want for your entrances. It sets the tone for the whole reception and gets everyone pumped for the night ahead. Amanda & Sam opted for tunes that were a little cheeky & sassy, which really helped to get their guests into the party mindset (as you can see below!)
Cake Cutting: Better Together – Jack Johnson. This is a great choice for cake cutting. It’s romantic & sweet, but mellow enough to simply compliment -rather then dominate- the moment.
Bridal Waltz: Everlong – The Foo Fighters. Amanda & Sam really demonstrated that you can never go wrong with a personal favourite for this special dance. It’s purely about the two of you – if you can choose something you both love then you’re on to a winner!
Farewell Song: I Wanna Dance With Somebody – Whitney Houston. Ending the night on a high with a dance floor classic! Flawless.
And there you have it. Just a few of many beautiful memories from a very special night 🙂
Funkified is a WEOA 2014 Awards Finalist!!
Funkified in Papua New Guinea
The gig was a resounding success with over $4 million raised, and it was truly humbling to have worked on such a wonderful event. Several of the musicians from Sydney Camerata were approached by both guests and hotel staff afterwards, thanking them for their beautiful and moving performance – we were actually told several times that with live orchestral concerts being fairly uncommon in Papua New Guinea, they were elated to have had the opportunity to see one of such high calibre. This was particularly special to hear!
Thanks for the happy snap Bridget & Scott!
Love this one of Jess Pollard that Bridget & Scott sent us from their ceremony at the Royal Automobile Club of Australia! And the accompanying messagefrom Bridget definitely made us smile:
“I just wanted to say thank you for enabling us to have Jess play at our wedding! She was amazing! She has such a great voice and, even with a few hiccups with our scheduling, she was very professional. So many people have commented to us about how much they enjoyed listening to her… Hopefully I can listen to her again at a gig around Sydney!”
Thanks for the kind words! We’ll happily keep you up-to-date with Jess’ gig schedule, X
A Few Belated Snaps from the Luna Park 2013 Wedding Fair!
Because late is better then never. Some beautiful work from some fantastic Sydney wedding pro’s. Unfortunately it was a busy day, and we only managed to snap a couple of the many gorgeous stalls that were set up (just the ones next to us really 😦 ), but here’s what we got!

Photos from Natalie & Michael’s March Wedding!
Natalie & Michael were kind enough to send us some incredible happy snaps of their guests enjoying The Usual Suspects at their March wedding at Sergeant’s Mess. Take a look:
Nat & Michael shared their first dance to Whitney Houston’s classic ‘Want to Dance With Somebody’ (a particular specialty of Usual Suspects singer Jess, fyi), which was a very fresh choice; not to mention a fantastic way to kick off the party (as seen below). The guys kept up the momentum with tunes such as The Black Eyed Peas’ I’ve Gotta Feeling and Beyonce’s Crazy In Love (another Usual Suspects favourite!).
The evening ended with the bands rendition of Dirty Dancing’s The Time Of My Life, which felt very appropriate for such an epic night! Such a pleasure to see so many lovely people enjoying live music :). Seriously, some of these shots look like a still from Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby!
Thanks for the photos guys! Congratulations and all the best for a wonderful life together. You certainly started it the right way! X

Amazing Photos, Courtesy of Lizzie & Eric
Take a look at these spectacular pics of R’n’B Covers band Suite Az, from Lizzie and Eric’s April wedding. Absolutely stunning:
And last but not least, our absolute favourite. The bride and groom share their first dance to the bands rendition of ‘Touched by Love’ (Eran James). Gorgeous!
Congratulations Lizzie and Eric. Thanks for sharing these shots with us- looks like Suite Az were the right choice! Fantastic to work with you guys.
All the best,
